EDUCATION Child Sponsorship.
The beginning of January 2008 was a dark moment for Kenya. The country went into tribal war occasioned by the disputed 2007 presidential elections which resulted into the tragic deaths of 1000 people and with almost 500,000 internally displaced persons. In the thick of this situation, were caught children who lost their parents, became homeless and literaly began surviving in the IDP camps.
Many families were disillusioned, despared and disappointed at the political class which enjoyed the spoils of the outcome of the conflict with little regard to the families that were affected. HFCI continues to give scholarships to children from severely disadvantaged backgrounds. The high levies in secondary schools make it difficult for many poor children in Kenya to achieve their dreams. With your help HFCI will continue to bridge this gap.
